Behind the hustle and bustle of Elizabeth street, hidden in the undergrowth of Melbourne's corporate jungle lies a sophisticated boutique drinkers' hide away, Murmur. Inhabiting a coffee and spice warehouse of yesteryear, this rustic alleyway setting has been transformed into an exquisite lounge created as the ideal space to unwind with a cocktail.

Our little murmur has finally been heard……
The largest bar awards in Australia were held on the 18th of September and Murmur was crowned “2007 Cocktail bar of the Year”. On this same evening Greg Sanderson, our bar manager, was rated in the top 10 bartenders in the country.
Murmur would like to thank all of our friends and loyal customers for their support over the past 4 years. If you have already made your way through our award winning creations, fear not, we have just concocted a delicious new cocktail menu. And for those who haven’t, look for the blue light and see what all the fuss is about!

Cocktail Master Class

Tired of the same old work gatherings? Want a team building exercise with a difference? Ever wanted to learn more about the craft of the cocktail bartender? We here @ Murmur are offering you the chance to have loads of fun, drink, eat and bartend with your friends or colleges. We will take you through cocktail techniques, cocktail history, a range of classic cocktails, teach you how to make your own at home and let you have a bash behind the bar as well. The session takes approximately 2 hours and is suitable for after work drinks with a difference, hen’s evenings, social gatherings or team building exercises. The class is also suitable for young bartenders with an interest to learn more about cocktails. All attendees receive comprehensive cocktail lists and cheat sheets ranging from classics cocktails to Murmur’s cutting edge contempory designs, to impress on your friends at your next dinner party. Due to Murmurs intimate size master classes during certain times have been moved to Phoenix bar, same class, different venue, and unfortunately these classes are not available on Friday's.
